Things To Do On Nevis
Nevis which is green and serene is a haven for nature lovers. From the peak of the mountain to the reefs offshore, Nevis is natural and that is one of the reasons it keeps attracting visitors. There are many vestiges of the islands history: old sugar plantations, wind mills and churches. Known for its rain forest, reefs and many ruins, these natural amenities and historic areas create a holiday which is full of adventure and surprise.
There are many beaches along the west coast of the Island, from Herbert's beach in the north to Pinneys beach at Charlestown in the south. They are all good for swimming, snorkeling, picnicking or just sunbathing. There are many areas for scuba diving, windsurfing and even whale watching. Kayaking is also enjoyed along the coast where one can take in the scenery of the Island by absorbing its lush, green foreshore. You can also enjoy viewing the island by taking a sailing boat and try a cocktail at sunset.
Starting at the north end, one can visit one of the Islands most well known plantations which has been transformed into the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club. This is a beautiful Inn located on the beach whereas most other inns are to be found in the hills. Also among the activities offered on the Island can be found at Nisbet which hosts a very popular weekly barbecue held on a Thursday and known as West Indian Night where you will be able to hear steel pan music and other local bands.
Lush hillsides where the only sounds are the whisper of breezes and the chirping of birds. Golden sandy beaches fringed with clean, clear blue water. Gracious people who greet and treat you as friends. All these await you on Nevis, along with fine food, accommodation in luxury villas through to enchanting Plantation Inns found at the Caribbean's top rated resort with activities to suit every taste. Come let Nevis cast its spell on you, then leave if you must. (Or if you can).
